The Changing List

I never said I wouldn't change any of the goals I'd like to meet. I made the original list several years ago and as the years have gone by I have grown up. So have my goals.

Okay, well some of them.

Just as our age progresses so do the things we want to experience in life. A while back, Mr. M and I had a conversation...

Mr. M was staring wistfully at a motorcycle for sale that sat in the front of a short driveway in town. He said nothing for a few minutes, but then sighed as he glanced at me and my giganticly pregnant belly.

"I probably won't ever have a motorcycle again."

"Why not?" I asked.

"Well, because you probably won't let me, with the baby and all."

"How about you can have one if I can have one?

"No way! You are not getting a motorcycle!" he exclaimed.

"WHY?" I asked, upset. The motorcycle was on my bucket list!

"Because you are too accident prone and you will get hurt."

"I am not," I said, but then began to think back. Let's see, I did break my fingers on that slide in the middle of a corn maze that was held together with only materials found on a farm....and I do stub my toes a lot just walking down the hall...and I did fall down several times skiing when I was just standing in line waiting for the lift....

"Okay," I said, "Maybe you're right. But if you get a motorcycle, then I get a Corvette!"

"Deal!" he said.

Well, fast forward to just about a month ago...here's Mr. M...
Now, where's my Corvette?

Red. Right? You're new Corvette will be red? Isn't it a national law that Corvettes have to be red? No? It should be. And it will have nice big seatbelts to keep your accident-prone self all safe!

Can't wait to see the pics!! Ha ha!

Ha Ha love it! I'm holding out for a brand spanking new Acadia. It must include leather and the wireless headphones for EACH of the kids. Silver...with grey interior. Too bad this will NEVER happen and I will drive the 'DENT' for at least five more years. After that I'm sure we will purchase another used van. Here's to a little humility! Good luck with your Corvette. I hope you get it sooner than I get my dream car.
